Who We Are
The Kenya Parliamentary Human Rights Association (KEPHRA) is a cross-party caucus of current and former Members of Parliament committed to advancing and safeguarding human rights in Kenya.
Established in 2013, KEPHRA was born out of a recognition that parliaments are not only legislative chambers, but also powerful platforms for shaping how rights are defined, protected, and lived by citizens.
Mission
To promote and protect human rights in Kenya through legislation, representation, and oversight in parliament.
Vision
To be an effective caucus focused on human rights through parliamentary mandate. To affirm and protect the universal values of human rights, truth, peace and social justice, human dignity and integrity in the context of Kenya’s cultural and historical background. We will champion the development of policies and laws that promote state capacity to enhance human rights in Kenya. We shall focus on mechanisms to oversight state compliance with human rights obligations and accountability for human rights violations.

Sovereignty of the Kenyan people
Justice, equality, and equity for all Kenyans
Integrity in leadership
Commitment, independence, boldness and courage
